I undertake frequent training and undergo regular supervision.
Training

I am a psychodynamic therapist and counsellor with over two years of clinical experience. I work full-time with individual adult clients at the Rock Clinic in Brighton and in private practice in Heathfield, East Sussex. I work online and face-to-face.
I have worked with a diverse range of clients in both charitable and private settings. I am registered with and work within the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I offer long-term psychotherapy and short-term counselling.

My approach is warm, relational and non-judgmental. I believe our current persistent difficulties have their roots in the past, and only when these are explored with compassion and curiosity to understand their origins and why they were necessary will real, long-lasting change occur. The most important factor in successful Psychotherapy is the relationship between therapist and client. I will provide you with a containing environment where you will feel safe to explore your thoughts and emotional concerns, and to begin approaching the past with my continued support.

You might know why you are seeking therapy, or the problem may not be so clear. I have personal and clinical experience with a range of presentations, including (but not limited to):

-
Suicidality
-
Complex Trauma
-
Single-event trauma
-
Depression
-
Self harm
-
Existential crisis
-
Abuse
-
People-pleasing tendencies
-
Controlling tendencies
-
Problems relating to childhood

Or overwhelming feelings such as:
-
Hopelessness
-
Despair
-
Numbness - feeling nothing at all

You might recognise yourself in one or more of these, or it might be something else entirely.

Therapy can be challenging, but it is also rewarding and, for some, life-changing as you gradually become more self-aware and better able to reflect.
